I hope everyone is planning a special Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving this week. If you are, I have the ultimate inspiration for you.
This timber frame barn is the perfect spot to host a large dinner party like Thanksgiving. Timber framing (by the way) utilizes large posts and beams joined by mortise and tenon joints and other traditional and decorative joinery to create its sturdy building frame, resulting in a meticulously crafted home with majestic, wide-open interiors and seamless heavy timber connections.
The dining space at the barn is the ideal spot to serve turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes to your closest family and friends. We couldn’t even fit all of the chairs and tables that we designed for the space … they just wouldn’t fit in the camera shot.
Typically this barn seats over 22 people for dinner and has over 180 inches of custom table space. The tables are flanked with rich gray velvet chairs that are both beautiful and comfortable for our our host and hostess. The tables were custom made in Lancaster and stained to match the chairs.
Not only are the head chairs comfortable but the side chairs are comfortable with padded seats and a curved back that hugs you when you are enjoying your guests conversation and drinking a nice bottle of wine or two.
After dinner you can head over to the lounge area with cool leather chairs and cozy sofas to continue the conversation and watch a movie and light a fire at the oversized and beautiful stone fireplace.
The stone of the fireplace matches the exterior façade and has both warm and cool tones. You can really see the beautiful craftsmanship from King Construction of the barn from the below angle.
It was a challenge to make this barn feel cozy and warm considering its cavernous size. Warm materials, lots of texture and hints of color helped us accomplish it’s inviting feel.
As you can see, barns aren’t just for horses, hay and stables anymore… what would you do if you had a party barn?
Thanks for reading!! xoxo
